Central Islip, N.Y. – (5/3/2017) – A 7-6 overtime win over #16 LIU Post on March 11 triggered a 7-2 run through the remainder of the Chestnut Hill College men's lacrosse season. The streak included dominate East Coast Conference (ECC) wins over Dominican College (17-9 on 3/25), the University of the District of Columbia (UDC) (19-6 on 4/1), Georgian Court University (GCU) (22-4 on 4/22), St. Thomas Aquinas College (STAC) (17-4 on 4/15), and most recently, Molloy College (16-7 on 4/29). The streak propelled the Griffins to their first ECC Men's Lacrosse Championship Tournament since the 2014 season as the Scarlet and Gold serves at the #3 seed and travels today, Wednesday, March 3, to Dobbs Ferry, New York, for a 3:00 p.m. semifinal at #2 Mercy College (

Chestnut Hill College (8-4, 6-2) received votes in the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA)/Nike Division II Men's Lacrosse Coaches Poll each week of the season. Tanner Fisher (Port Coquitlam, British Columbia). But the extra frame only lasted 19 seconds (3:41) as freshman midfielder Anthony DeVito (Rocky Point, N.Y.) converted the period's only shot and ended the contest in the Mavericks' favor, 8-7.
The Scarlet and Gold used the defeat as inspiration, winning five of their last six contests, three in blowout fashion. It was another 50-point season for Dambach, which was complimented by a 30-goal season from Fisher and a balanced supporting cast that featured a 30-point season from Klusaritz, a 20-goal season from freshman
Carson Rees (Port Coquitlam, British Columbia), and an x-factor in
Andrew Dooley (Monroe Township, N.J.), who tied the program's single-game scoring mark with six goals in the season finale victory at Molloy College.
Senior goalkeeper
Thomas McDermott (Ridley, Pa.) was a four-time ECC Defensive Player of the Week and scored the Griffins first tally by a net-minder with a long distance missile in Chestnut Hill College's win over the Pioneers. He currently ranks third in the nation for saves (138), eighth for save percentage (.603), and 24
th in saves-per-game (11.5), helping the Griffins' provide the nation's fifth-ranked defense (7.9 goals allowed-per-game).
