Box Score Waterbury, Conn. - (1/10/2018) – A three-man attack of senior guard Demetrius Isaac (Philadelphia, Pa.), senior center Chris Evans (Norristown, pa.), and junior guard Cartier Talford (Reading, Pa.) combined for 44 points, but it was not enough to overcome Post University in tonight's 81-63 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) loss. Chestnut Hill College held a 38-36 halftime advantage thanks to 10-point first halves from Isaac and Evans, but needed Talford to score eight of his 13 points in the second half to stay competitive until the final five minutes of the affair.

Chestnut Hill College (1-13, 0-7) led most of the way in the first half, opening with an 8-0 run before holding Post University (4-11, 3-4) off for a narrow 38-36 halftime edge. Evans and Isaac earned the Griffins' their early advantage, which vanished by 13:52 as the Eagles knotted the game for the first time at 13-13. It remained tied at 18-18 before the 11-minute (11:18) mark, but swung back in the Griffins' favor after a 14-5 run, that included four Scarlet and Gold threes and eight Evans points, earned Chestnut Hill College a nine-point, 32-23 (6:37), advantage. Unfortunately, the Eagles ate into that lead as well, using a 12-2 run of their own to cut the deficit to a single point, 35-34 (3:00). The Griffins survived for a 38-36 halftime advantage, but surrendered the lead for good early in the second half (45-42, 17:37) as the Eagles gradually grew their lead to double digits, 69-58 (3:33), before exploding late for an 18-point, 81-63, win.

Off the bench, senior guard Tyler Desrosiers (Agawam, Mass.) led Post University with 24 points and five rebounds. Three Eagle starters reached double digits as well; freshman guard Darrick Boyd (Springfield, Mass.) totaled 14 points, freshman guard Jaylen Washington (Brooklyn, N.Y.) offered 13 points, and junior forward Tamas Okros (Bristol, England) contributed 10 points.

Isaac finished with a team-high 16 points for Chestnut Hill College. He also recorded seven rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Evans added nine rebounds, two assists, and two blocks to his 15 points. Talford hit three (3-of-6, .500), three point baskets in his 13-point effort. He also recorded three rebounds and a pair of assists as the Griffins' top reserve.

The Chestnut Hill College men's basketball returns to Sorgenti Arena on Saturday, January 13, to host Nyack College in a 3:00 p.m. CACC contest.
