Vicky Tumasz (North Wales, Pa.) captained the Griffins with a 24-point effort that came with six (6-of-9, .667) three point baskets, three rebounds, two assists, and five steals.
Chestnut Hill College (11-6, 7-1) gave themselves a comfortable cushion during the first quarter, 26-13, making it difficult for Nyack College (2-15, 2-6 CACC) to find their rhythm. By the end of the first half a pair of 11-point efforts from Tumasz and junior forward
Jaeda Wildgoose (Somerset, N.J.) paced the Griffins to a 17-point, 43-26, lead. The second half of the contest mirrored the first, but additional Scarlet and Gold offense came from forward
Shannon Glenn (Philadelphia, Pa.) and freshman guard
Cassie Sebold (Willow Grove, Pa.), who both scored in double digits by the conclusion of the 27-point final, 88-61.
Junior forward Janae Bailey (Upper Marlboro, Md.) led Nyack College with 12 points and six rebounds. Senior forward Audrey Matteson (Monticello, Ind.) came off the Warrior bench for 11 points, three rebounds, and three assists. Additionally, sophomore guard Bryanna Brown (New York, N.Y.) chipped in 10 points, while junior guard Japria Karim-Duvall (Potomac, Md.) collected 14 rebounds.
Glenn, Wildgoose, and Sebold all joined Tumasz in double digits. Glenn totaled 15 points, in excess of seven rebounds, two assists, and four steals. Wildgoose added a rebound, two assists, three blocks, and a steal, while Sebold came off the Griffin bench for 12 points, six rebounds, and five assists.
The Chestnut Hill College women's basketball team will resume their conference play January 16, 2018, hosting Dominican College at 6:00 p.m.
