Box Score Philadelphia, Pa. - (2/10/2018) – Chestnut Hill College opened the afternoon of Central Athletic Collegiate Conference (CACC) basketball by honoring the collegiate careers of senior guard Caroline Gehring (New Suffolk, N.Y.), senior guard Ayanna Holloway (Philadelphia, Pa.), senior guard Vicky Tumasz (North Wales, Pa.), and senior guard Tomiaya Graham (Miami, Fla.). Despite the best efforts of junior forward Jaeda Wildgoose (Somerset, N.J.) and sophomore guard Shannon Glenn (Philadelphia, Pa.), the Griffins were not able to keep the celebration going in an 80-68 loss to Caldwell University.

Chestnut Hill College (15-9, 11-4) and Caldwell University (20-4, 13-2) exchanged leads early in the opening quarter, but a bold 16-point effort from guard Kristen Drogsler (Middle Village, N.Y.) separated the Cougars by 11 points at the end, 27-16. The trend continued during the second period as the Cougars expanded their lead to 20 points, 48-28, by halftime. The Griffins came back in the third quarter, outscoring Caldwell University 20-15 (63-48, 3QTR) thanks to the combined hustle of Wildgoose, Glenn, and Tumasz. Chestnut Hill College overpowered the Cougars in the fourth frame as well, 20-17, but ran out of time in an 80-68 end.

Drogsler led the way for the Cougars with 32 points, two rebounds, four assists, and two steals. Sophomore guard Tina Lebron (Manalapan, N.J.) chipped in 12 points, two boards, and two assists, while senior guard Sharell Sanders (Dorchester, Mass.) totaled eight points, two rebounds, eight assists and six steals. Senior forward Maura Kelty (Barrington, R.I.) anchored the lineup with a 10-point, 12-rebound double-double.

Wildgoose was 8-of-11 (.727) from the floor and 6-of-8 (.750) from the free throw line to total a team-high 22 points for Chestnut Hill College. Glenn recorded 17 points, five rebounds, one assist, and two steals. Tumasz scored her 1,000th career point at 2:42 of the first quarter and finished the game with 14 points, five rebounds, four assists, and two steals. Junior guard Mary Trossi (Somerset, N.J.) added six points, six assists, and five rebounds.
