Chestnut Hill College Cruises to 103-66 CACC Win at Felician University

Box Score Rutherford, N.J. (2/17/2018) – The Scarlet and Gold defense suffocated Felician College for a decisive 103-66 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) score this afternoon. Chestnut Hill College held the Golden Falcons to a 31.7% (26-of-82) shooting performance and just ten free throws (8-of-10, .800), while forcing 24 turnovers in the process. Sophomore forward Shannon Glenn (Philadelphia, Pa.) led five Griffins in double figures with 20 points on a 6-of-10 (.600) field goal effort that included three (3-of-4, .750), three point baskets and was accompanied by a 5-of-6 (.833) free throw showing. The victory sets a program single season-high since the College joined the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II in 2007-2008.
 
Chestnut Hill College (17-9, 13-4) wasted no time asserting itself as a layup by senior guard Vicky Tumasz (North Wales, Pa.) earned them an 11-point, 17-6, lead in the opening five minutes (5:41). The difference reached as many as 26 points, 34-8, in the closing minutes (1:03) of the period and later in the second period (4:30) by as many as 37, 47-10, points before settling on a 27-point, 53-26, halftime spread. Glenn (2-of-3, .667) and Tumasz (3-of-5, .600) combined to hit 5-of-8 (.625) three point attempts and scored respectively finished the first half with 15 and 14 points; the former added five rebounds, an assist, and a steal, while the latter grabbed a rebound, provided two assists, and made three steals. In the second half, the Griffin advantage hovered in the lower thirties for most of the third quarter and gradually grew to 40 points, 103-63, in the closing minutes (1:30).
 
Freshman guard Nicole Pimentel (Newark, N.J.) led the Golden Falcons with 14 points, nine rebounds, and two assists. Junior forward Kameron Stone (Bronx. N.Y.) and freshman guard Bionca Chambers (New Milford, N.J.) joined her in double digits with 12 and 10 points, respectively. Stone added four rebounds and a block to her dozen (12) points, while Chambers also recorded a rebound, two assists, and a steal.
 
Glenn grabbed a team-high eight rebounds, dished out three assists, and made two steals in addition to recording her fourth game of 20 points or more this season. Tumasz was the Griffins' second highest scorer with 17 points. She also totaled three rebounds, two assists, and three steals. Junior forward Jaeda Wildgoose (Somerset, N.J.) was efficient (6-of-9, .667) in scoring her 12 points, to which she added two rebounds and two assists.

Freshman guards, Cassie Sebold (Willow Grove, Pa.) and Rachael Millan (Huntingdon Valley, Pa.) scored 16 points apiece off the Chestnut Hill College bench. Sebold also recorded four rebounds, five assists, and a steal, while Millan added two rebounds and a steal to the breakout performance of her freshman year.
 
The Chestnut Hill College women's basketball team returns to action on Wednesday, February 21, when they visit Holy Family University for a 6:00 p.m. tipoff.
