Vicky Tumasz (North Wales, Pa.) hit all five (5-of-8, .625) of her three pointers in the third quarter to force the Griffins ahead for a 68-63 league win over the Tigers.
Holy Family University (10-16, 9-9) held the upper hand for the entire first half, gradually building an eight-point, 18-10 (0:25), lead by the first-quarter break and pushing it to double digits, 22-12, early in the second quarter (7:23). Chestnut Hill College (17-9, 13-4) took the rest of the frame to tear the Tiger advantage down, reducing the margin to five points, 22-17, on a Gibson jumper at 3:25 and just three points, 26-23 (0:11), by halftime thanks to a concluding layup from senior guard

The second half sea change came early with Tumasz hitting her first three point basket at 9:02 (28-26) of the third quarter. She then gave Griffins their first lead, 33-23, of the contest with another at 4:35, before connecting again at 2:56 (36-34), 2:18 (39-34), and 1:08 (42-36). Unfortunately, Holy Family University used the final minute of the frame to narrow the Scarlet and Gold spread to a single point, 42-41 (0:10). Chestnut Hill College reasserted itself at the start of the fourth quarter, advancing their position to double digits, 55-45, midway (5:12) through the period only to fend off the Tigers down the stretch. Shannon Glenn (Philadelphia, Pa.) (64-58, 1:11) gave the Griffins enough cushion for a series of succeeding free throws.
Senior guard Alexis Hofstraedter (Richboro, Pa.) led Holy Family University with 16 points, seven rebounds, five assists, and a steal. Three other Tigers joined her in doubles figures; sophomore forward Elizabeth Radley (Hainesport, N.J.) scored 14 points in excess of five rebounds and an assist, junior center Casey Thomas (Hammonton, N.J.) offered 12 points in addition to six rebounds, an assist, a block, and a steal, and sophomore guard Casey Schweitzer (Lagrangeville, N.Y.) provided 10 points while grabbing seven rebounds, supplying two assists, and making four steals.
Tumasz added her other three points at the foul line (3-of-4, .750) to total 18 in all. She also contributed two rebounds, an assist, and a steal. Gibson scored 11 of her 14 points in the first half.
