Box Score Caldwell, N.J. - (2/27/2018) – Tonight's Central Collegiate Atlantic Conference (CACC) Opening Round contest at #2N Caldwell University began similar to the Griffins' regular season match up as the Cougars owned another 27-16 first-quarter edge. Unfortunately, from there the home advantage continued to grow, reaching more than 30 points by halftime, 56-25 (0:07, 2QTR), 40 points late in the third quarter, 70-30 (1:34, 3QTR), and over 60 points in the closing seconds, 109-48 (0:37), of a 109-49 final. Senior guard Vicky Tumasz (North Wales, Pa.) was the lone bright spot for the Scarlet and Gold, scoring a team-high 16 points in addition to three rebounds and a steal.
 
Chestnut Hill College (19-10) had trouble finding their stroke, gradually losing ground due to a 25.8% (8-of-31) first-half shooting performance. Caldwell University (25-5) grew their initial lead to double digits, 19-9, late in the first quarter (2:44) and the margin settled at 11 points, 27-16 (0:00), for the break. It quickly increased in the second quarter, reaching 21 points, 37-16, at 6:44 and 30 points, 52-22, just past the two-minute mark (1:59), before settling at 31 points, 56-25 (0:07), for halftime. After intermission, the Cougars pushed their advantage to 40 points, 70-30, with 1:34 left in the third quarter, 51 points, 91-40, with six minutes (6:04) to play, and eventually 61 points, with 37 seconds remaining.
 
Six Cougars finished in double figures; sophomore guard Tina Lebron (Manalapan, N.J.) was chief among them with 24 points. She hit all eight (8-of-12, .667) of her shot from behind the three point line, while recording a rebound, three assists, and a steal in the process.
 
The Chestnut Hill College women's basketball team finishes the 2017-2018 season at 19-10 overall and 15-4 in the CACC.
