Ariel Magee (North Cape May, N.J.) recorded the Scarlet and Gold's only run-batted-in (RBI) in the twin bill with a game-two, fifth-inning pinch hit single to left field.
In the opener, Chestnut Hill College (1-19, 1-12) nearly matched Felician University (14-15, 11-3) in hits, but was less successful in producing runs as the Golden Falcons scored three times in the second inning, 3-0, four times in the third inning, 7-0, and once more in the fourth inning to end the affair early, 8-0. The Griffins had runners in scoring position in the first, second, third, and fifth innings, but was unable to plate a run. In the fifth, a leadoff single from junior centerfielder

Alessandra Messina (Ambler, Pa.) gave the Griffins a chance to score, but the Golden Falcons made the play at the plate and ended the contest with a grounder to second base and a line out to left field.

Cailey Stevenson (Burbank, Calif.), and another Golden Falcon miscue to score a run in a the second inning, 1-0. Unfortunately, the home team scored twice in the bottom of the frame, 2-1, and twice in the third inning, 4-1, before the Griffins issued a response. In the top of the fifth inning, a one-out single from junior catcher
Brielle Riotte (Elizabeth, N.J.), a two-out single Maioran single, and Magee's pinch-hit single to centerfield cut the Felician University lead to 4-2, but they scored twice more in the bottom of the frame, 6-2, and once in the sixth inning to retire the Scarlet and Gold in a 7-2 end.
The Chestnut Hill College softball team continues their CACC season tomorrow, Saturday, April 14, when they host Bloomfield College in a 12:00 p.m. doubleheader.
