Box Score Philadelphia, Pa. - (12/21/2019) – The Scarlet and Gold had trouble finding their groove in this afternoon's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest at the University of the Sciences (USciences), only connecting on 13-of-47 (.277) field goal attempts in a 62-37 loss to the Devils. Cassie Sebold (Willow Grove, Pa.) led the Griffins with nine points, three rebounds, and three assists.
USciences (9-3, 3-1) took the advantage early, separating from Chestnut Hill College (3-9, 2-2) with a 28-6 first-quarter margin. The Griffins limited Devils to just nine points in the second quarter and held them scoreless for the last three minutes (2:59) of the period, but only managed to cut the deficit a single point as they trailed the home team by a 32-18 at halftime. After the break, a competitive third quarter was followed by USciences-heavy fourth quarter; the Devils emerged from a 48-33 third-quarter spread with a 12-0 run that propelled them to their eventual 62-37 victory.
Senior guard Jordan Vitelli (Warrington, Pa.) led USciences with 18 points and five rebounds. Junior guard Irisa Ye (North Wales, Pa.) was a strong compliment with 16 points, three rebounds, and three assists. Sophomore guard Kendall Keyes (Mount Laurel, N.J.) joined them in double figures with 12 points and two rebounds.
