Lily Winn (Los Angeles, Calif.) (2-for-4) and freshman designated player
Lily Reid (Texas City, Texas) (2-for-3) recorded two hits apiece with the former knocking in the latter as the Griffins' only run of the affair.
Chestnut Hill College (4-1) got on the scoreboard before Mansfield University (2-1), using a sacrifice bunt from junior second baseman
Cailey Stevenson (Burbank, Calif.) and a two-out single from Winn to capitalize on a Reid's second-inning, leadoff double, 1-0. Unfortunately, the Mountaineers recovered with a late rally, scoring their first run on a Griffin error in the fifth inning, 1-0, and five runs on five hits in the sixth inning. Sophomore left fielder Joelle Snyder (Dornsife, Pa.) provided the clutch at-bat, bringing home four runs with a one-out, inside-the-park home run, 4-1. A walk and a sacrifice later, Mansfield University added a fifth run with a single to centerfield, 5-1.
