New Haven, Conn. - (2/23/2021) – Edging out two-time Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Lacrosse Champion Georgian Court University (39 Total Points, 3 First-Place Votes) by a single point, Chestnut Hill College ranked first in the recently released 2021 CACC Men's Lacrosse Preseason Coaches Poll with 40 points and four of the seven first-place votes available from the league's head coaches. Behind the Griffins and Lions, the CACC's 2021 forecasted standings included Wilmington University (31), Dominican College (28), Post University (21), Caldwell University (17), and Felician University (13).
 
The Scarlet and Gold made every moment on Victory Field #1 count in 2020 as they scored three overpowering wins and challenged one of the top teams in the Nation (L, 10-17 vs. #4 Mercyhurst University on February 22) on the way to a 5-1 record. Senior attack Carson Rees (Port Coquitlam, British Columbia) was the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) DII leader in goals per game (5.50) and points per game (7.83) while serving as the epicenter of a high-powered offense that topped the Nation in assists per game (13.67), man-up offense (15-of-17, .882), points per game (35.17), scoring margin (12.50/game), scoring offense (21.50), and shot percentage (.454). Meanwhile, junior goalkeeper Jake Miller (Castle Rock, Colo.) balanced the Griffins, ranking sixth in the Nation in save percentage (.646). The Scarlet and Gold received a season-high, 19 votes in the final USILA DII Coaches Poll – Week 6 (March 9, 2020) of 2020.
 
Chestnut Hill College is scheduled to open their 2021 season this Saturday, February 22, with a 12:00 p.m. contest against #4 Seton Hill University.
