Lock Haven, Pa. - (5/1/2021) – In preparation for the upcoming Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's and Women's Track and Field Championships, Chestnut Hill College took only more opportunity to test their wears at the Lock Haven University Qualifier. The Griffins were prevalent in the sprints, as sophomore Pierson Dyson (Baltimore, Md.) led three Scarlet and Gold entrants in the 100-Meter with his second-place run (2nd, 11.76) and freshman Damir Kee (Somerdale, N.J.) led three Chestnut Hill College finishers in the 200-Meter with a time of 23.98 (4th).
Chestnut Hill College's only field entries came in the Shot Put. Freshmen Elijah Fogg (Somers Point, N.J.) and Jason Chedester (Lancaster, Pa.) respectively placed fifth (5th, 11.21 meters) and seventh (7th, 10.66) in the men's event. Meanwhile, Nora Adams placed 11th on the women's side with a throw of 6.79 meters.
Freshmen Jason Fisher (Reading, Pa.) and Devin Caban (Bayonne, N.J.) represented Chestnut Hill College in the distance runs. The former was the only entrant in the 3,000-Meter and finished it in 10:17.13. The latter placed fourth in the 5,000-Meter with a time of 17:18.53.
Dyson was followed in the 100-Meter by sophomores Jalin Meachem (Philadelphia, Pa.) (4th, 12.43) and Jayvond Kelly (Washington, DC) (6th, 12.77). Kee was trailed in the 200-Meter by sophomore Ish Americain (Secane, Pa.) (5th, 24.13) and Mutahir Abbasi (8th, 24.54).
Chestnut Hill College joins their league rivals at Georgian Court University on Saturday, May 15, for the CACC Men's and Women's Track and Field Championships.
