The Chestnut Hill College Baseball team coming off a 19-win season and a semi-final appearance in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Baseball Championship Tournament received votes in the 2022
National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association NCAA Division II East Region Pre-Season Poll that was released Wednesday.
The inclusion in this year's poll marks the sixth consecutive year that the Griffins either received votes or were ranked in the NCBWA East Region Pre-Season poll. Chestnut Hill received its first pre-season ranking in 2016 when the Griffins were voted in at #7 in the pre-season poll.
The Griffins went 19-14 in 2021 and 13-9 in CACC games, finishing fourth in the CACC South division and earning a spot in the conference baseball championship tournament. Chestnut Hill defeated USciences in the opening round and Goldey-Beacom College in the quarterfinals to advance to the semi-final game where they bowed out to Jefferson University. It was the Griffins eighth consecutive appearance in the CACC Championship tournament dating back to 2013
The Chestnut Hill College Baseball team opens their season with four games in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina starting on February 25, 2022 with a doubleheader against University of Bridgeport.
