Thirteen Student-Athletes Named to the 2022 CSFL All-Academic Team

Thirteen members of the 2022 Chestnut Hill College Football team were among  151 student-athletes named to the 2022 Collegiate Sprint Football League (CSFL) All-Academic Team as announced by Commissioner Dan Mara on Wednesday. 

To be eligible, a student-athlete must, a) have a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or higher; b) competed during the most recent season; c) and must be at least a sophomore both academically and athletically. There is no limit to how many nominees a school may have, provided they meet the listed criteria.

The 13 Griffin athletes recognized by the CSFL are the most that the program has placed on the CSFL All-Academic team since the team's inception in 2018.

Recognized for their academic performance were seniors Colby Goldsmith and Schneider Juste along with juniors Colin Circello, Jonathan Oister, C.J. Small and Christopher Strehl.  Seven sophomores were also named to the team:  Jake Bosken, Anthony Broderick, Myron Brooks, Dennis Cranston Jr., Matthew Davis, Cam Goldsmith, and Nick Ocampo

Ocampo and Cranston were also among the 27 athletes who earned both all-academic status and were named to one of the league's all-conference teams.

Seven different majors were represented among the 13 Griffin honorees with four athletes majoring in Business Administration and Management (Broderick, Brooks, Cam Goldsmith and Small).  Three athletes are Criminal Justice majors (Davis, Colby goldsmith, and Oister) while five additional majors were represented by one athlete apiece:  Cybersecurity (Circello); Accounting (Cranston); Law and Legal studies (Juste); Computer Information Sciences (Ocampo) and Political Science (Strehl). 

The Chestnut Hill College football team finished fourth in the CSFL South Division in 2022.
