Chmiel and Sebold Earn CACC Women's Basketball Weekly Honors

Emily Chmiel and Cassie Sebold were again recognized by the Central Atlantic collegiate conference for their performances in their two games last week as the Chestnut Hill College women's basketball team completed another perfect week with two wins.

Chmiel (Doylestown, Pa.) was named the CACC Rookie of the Week for the fifth time this season while Sebold (Willow Grove, Pa.) garnered her second CACC Weekly honor Roll selection.

In two games last week, Chmiel averaged 9.5 points per game while shooting 60% from the field.  The freshman forward played an average of 16 minutes a game.
Chmiel recorded her ninth double-double of the season against Bloomfield College, tying her for the league lead at the time.  She scored 12 points and grabbed ten rebounds while recording two blocks, two assists and a steal.

Earlier in the week against Goldey-Beacom, Chmiel scored seven points and grabbed seven rebounds in just ten minutes of action.

For the week, Chmiel finished with 19 points and 17 rebounds and added two blocks, two steals and an assist.

Sebold recorded her second double-double of the season with 22 points and a season-high ten assists as the Griffins defeated the Lightning 79-53.  The senior guard was a perfect 8-8 from the free throw line and 6-11 from the field (54.5%).

On Saturday, Sebold played just 18 minutes but scored 14 points, moving her into third place on the Griffins' all-time scoring list with 1,184 career points.  She also made four three point field goals to move into 5th place on the Griffins all-time list for three-point field goals made with 160.

For the week, Sebold averaged 18.0 points, 7.0 assists and 5.5 rebounds while shooting 57.9% (11-19) from the field, including a 6-10 effort (60%) from three-point range.

The Chestnut Hill College women's basketball team will begin a string of tough road contests on Wednesday February 9, 2022, when they travel to face nationally ranked Dominican College in Orangeburg, New York.  This game is a rescheduled contest that was postponed on January 2.  The Griffins will also face Caldwell University and Jefferson University before returning home for their final two home games of the season beginning February 19
