The Series
Wednesday's game will be the 16
th meeting between Dominican college and Chestnut Hill. The Chargers hold a 10-5 lead in the all-time series and have won their last six contests against the Griffins played in the Hennessy Center. The Griffins lone win against the Chargers at the Hennessy Center came during the 2010-11 season, a 63-62 barn-burner.
Conference Action
Chestnut Hill drooped to 8-4 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) games with Saturday's loss to Bloomfield College. The Griffins remain in second place in the CACC South Division, three games behind division leader Jefferson and 1½ games ahead of third place Goldey-Beacom. Dominican is 8-3   in conference games and sits in second place in the CACC North division two games behind first place Post University.

MJ Iraldi is averaging 13.1 points per game and is now the team's leading scorer following his 15-point, ten rebound effort vs. Goldey-Beacom last Wednesday. The freshman guard/small forward is shooting 47.3% from the field. (34.0% from three-point range).  He is fourth on the team with 13 steals and is averaging 5.2 rebounds per game (5

Nigel Haughton is the team's leading rebounder and playmaker, averaging 6.5 rebounds per game and 2.9 assists per game. The sophomore guard is also averaging 12.5 points/game and is shooting 43.8% from the field. He is third on the team with 19 three-point baskets.  Haughton also leads the team with 30 steals and 58 assists.Â

Amir Warrick is the third Griffin scoring in double figures, averaging 12.2 points per game while shooting 47.1% from the field. Warrick is third on the team, averaging 5.5 rebounds/game and ranks third on the team with 32 assists and second on the team with 23 steals and 11 blocks.Â
James Rider IV rounds out the quartet of double figure scorers, averaging 10.0 points per game following his career high 31 points at Goldey-Beacom last week. He is second in the CACC in three-point field goal%, shooting 46.5% from three-point range (33-71). He has made 21 of 23 free throws for a 91.3% average.

Trevonn Pitts is averaging 9.5 points per game and is fifth on the team with 12 steals.
Conor Regan is averaging 8.5 points per game, is second on the team with 23 three-point field goals and fourth in rebounding (5.2/game) He leads the team in blocks with 17.

A late rally by the Chestnut Hill Men's Basketball Team fell short as the Griffins dropped a 64-60 decision to Bloomfield college Saturday afternoon at Sorgenti Arena in Philadelphia.
The loss drops the Griffins record to 11-9 overall and 8-4 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference games. The Bears improve to 8-13 overall and 6-5 in league play.

Bloomfield steadily built a lead in the second half and pushed it to double digits 56-46 with just 2:38 left to play. Rider started a 7-2 run with a layup-and-one that saw the Griffins cut the lead in half, 58-53 with just 1:09 remaining. A pair of Bloomfield free throws pushed the lead back to seven 62-55 with 23 seconds left.Â
Charles followed with a layup and then a steal that led to a three-point basket (five points in seven seconds) to make it a one possession game, 62-60. Forced to foul, Bloomfield's Andres Fulgencio made two free throws to seal the win. Rider's three-point shot with time expiring was off the mark.
Early in the game the Griffins used a 12-5 run to take a 14-8 lead just 4:30 into the contest. Neither team scored for the next four minutes until the bears made four straight free throws to pull within two and then added a three-point basket following a Haughton Layup to close within one 16-15 just past the midway mark. A 7-3 run by the Bears gave the visitors a 22-19 lead before the Griffins rallied to tie the game with a 7-2 spurt evening the score at 26-26 with 1:37 left in the half. Bloomfield added two more free throws in the final minute to take a 28-26 lead at the half.
Chestnut Hill took a one-point lead, 29-28, via a traditional three-point play from Iraldi in the opening minute of the second half. BC's Tyrek Battle-Holley took the lead right back with a three-point basket 31-29 and the Bears added another basket to go up by four 33-29. The Griffins came within two several times over the next six minutes, the last at 43-41 before the Bears embarked on a 13-5 run to take their biggest lead at ten, 56-46 with 2:38 to go.

Rider Named to the CACC Weekly Honor Roll and adds PSCBA Honor

(Baltimore, Md.)Â was named to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Weekly honor roll for his performance in the Griffins two games last week.
. In addition, Rider will be named to the Philadelphia Small College Basketball Association Weekly Honor Roll for the second time this season when the organization does its weekly release Wednesday afternoon

Rider averaged 20.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.0 steals in a 1-1 week for the Griffins.
Opening the week against Goldey-Beacom college, Rider scored a career-high 31 points as the Griffins completed the season series sweep with a 90-71 win. The senior guard shot a very efficient 10-12 from the field and made 6-of-8 from, three point range. He was also a perfect 5-5 from the free throw line. Rider dished out four assists and added a steal in the win.
In the Griffins loss to Bloomfield, Rider scored ten points and added four rebounds as the Griffins dropped a 64-60 decision to the Bears. He also had four rebound and a steal in the loss.
For the week, Rider scored 41 points while shooting 56% (14-25) from the field, including a 7-for-14 (50%) effort from beyond the arc. He was also a perfect 6-6 from the free throw line.

Dominican is 15-4 overall and 8-3 in CACC games. The Chargers are ranked #3 in the D2SIDA East region Poll and are receiving votes on the D2SIDA Division II National poll.

Lakewood, N.J. (2/5/22)Â The #22/#24 Dominican College men's basketball defeated the Georgian Court University Lions, 60-54, this afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game played in the Wellness Center.

The win improves the Chargers overall record to 15-4 and 8-3 in CACC play, while the Lions fall to 4-18 overall and 3-11 in the conference.
Jalen Burgess led all scorers with 20 points and posted DC's only double-double with 10 rebounds. Guard Wahaad Johnson came off the bench to net 12 points and three boards, while Justin Copman netted 11 points and eight rebounds.

Dominican never trailed in the contest and held their biggest advantage, 20-10, with 6:45 to play int he first half on a layup byÂ
Emmanuel Smith.

Georgian Court would rally to tie the game (39-39) with 12:02 left in regulation, but a nine straight Charger points rebuilt a 48-39 lead with under 10 to go. GCU would cut the lead to 56-54 with 1:29 on the clock, but a bucket from Johnson and two free throws from Burgess secured the 60-54 victory.
