Liam McCann continues to shine for the Chestnut Hill College Men's Lacrosse team earning Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Week honors for his performance in the Griffins' only game last week against nationally ranked Wilmington University.
McCann (Edmonton, Alberta) has now earned CACC Rookie of the Week honors in four consecutive weeks and five overall. He was also the CACC co-Player of the Week for the week ending March 28.
The freshman attacker recorded six points in the Griffins' 17-16 overtime loss to the nationally ranked Wildcats last Wednesday, scoring three goals and assisting on three others. His first goal tied the game at 2-2 while his second goal came when the Griffins were a man-down in the second quarter. This was McCann's second man-down goal of the season, tying the school's single season record. He added a third goal and two more assists in the fourth quarter as the Griffins battled back to send the game into overtime.
The Wilmington game was McCann's ninth game this season with three or more goals. He currently ranks second in the CACC with 39 goals on the season.
The Chestnut Hill College Men's Lacrosse team is back in action on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, when they host Georgian Court University at victory Field #1 in Lafayette Hill, Pennsylvania. First faceoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
