Three Women's Volleyball Players Named to the CACC All-Academic Team

Three members of the Chestnut Hill College women's volleyball team placed three players on the 2023 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Women's Volleyball all-Academic team in an announcement by the conference office Thursday morning.

In order to be eligible for the CACC All-Academic Teams, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, must have been a student-athlete at their current school for at least two semesters, and must have achieved a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.50 or higher through the preceding semester.
 
Recognized by the CACC this year are senior Torrin Kelley, redshirt junior Mia Caporellie and sophomore Chloe Mettille. Kelley earns CACC all-Academic Team accolades for the third time in her career while Caporellie becomes a two-time honoree.   Mettille is a first time honoree.

Kelley and Caporellie were also named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Volleyball Team earlier this week. The CSC All-District team is the first step towards a potential selection for Academic All-America status.   
 
A double major in forensic chemistry and forensic biology, Kelley becomes the Griffins' 13th three-time CACC Volleyball All-Academic Team honoree.  She was inducted into Chi Alpha Sigma, the national student athletic honor society, in the spring of 2023 and is also a member of the Sigma Zeta Honor Society (science and mathematics). Kelley has earned Dean's List and Athletic Academic Honor Roll accolades in every semester as a student-athlete at Chestnut Hill.

A business administration and management major with a minor in accounting, Caporellie has earned Dean's List and Athletic Academic Honor Roll accolades in every semester as a student-athlete at Chestnut Hill.  Caporellie was also inducted into Chi Alpha Sigma in the spring of 2023 along with induction into Sigma Beta Delta, the national business honor society.  She was named to the Philadelphia Academic All-Area Volleyball team last season
Mettille has earned Deans List and CHC Athletic Academic honor roll accolades in each of her first two semesters at Chestnut Hill.

Since joining the CACC for the 2007-08 season, 22 Griffin Women's Volleyball players have been named to the CACC Women's Volleyball Academic Honor Rolls a total of 52 times. Kelley is one of 13 Griffin volleyball players to be recognized on the CACC All-Academic team three times while Caporellie is one of five players to earn CACC All-Academic Volleyball accolades twice.
