Anastasia Watson narrowly missed extending her own school record in the discus throw at Saturday's Bison Outdoor Classic hosted by Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania.
Watson who was the Griffins' lone competitor at the meet, which required qualifying standards to compete came into the meet seeded 45
th out of the 48 registered competitors. The sophomore thrower went on to record a distance 39.65 meters (130' 1") to place second in her flight and 16

Her toss narrowly missed her own school record of 39.70 meters set at last year's Central Atlantic Collegiate conference championships.  The .05 meter difference is the equivalent of about two inches. Watson's distance however is the best performance of the season by a conference discus thrower and ranks second in the NCAA division II East Region.
Watson and the entire women's track and field team will be back in action next Saturday as they compete at the Moravian Invitational in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
