Sydney Watts qualified for the Central Atlantic collegiate conference Championships in a second event as the Chestnut Hill College women's Track and field team competed at the Towson university Invitational Saturday at Johnny Unitas Stadium in Towson, Maryland.

Watts, who last week turned a personal-best CACC qualifying time for the 5,000 meter run qualified for the 1,500-meter run with a time of 5:24.47, placing 31
st overall in a crowded field where nearly half of the runners were from division I institutions. Watts also competed in the 8,00-meter run, finishing with a time of 2:43.96.

Rebecca Dalton and senior
Lilly Short also ran the 800 – 1500 combination. Dalton finished the 800-meters in 2:43.64 and had a personal best time of 5:25.73 in the 1,500 meter race. Short completed the 1,500-meter race in 5:48.11 and finished the 800 run in 2:50.90
In the sprints,
Solanje James competed in both the 1,00 and 200 meter dash events. James, a freshman, finished the 100-meter race in 14:02 seconds and the 200-meter race in 29.88 seconds.
In the field events,
Anastasia Watson turned in two top-25 finished in the shoot put and discus events. The sophomore thrower placed 23
rd overall with a toss of 10.12 meters (33' 2½") in the shot put and threw the discus 35.40 meters (116' 2"), placing 11
th overall in the event.
The women's track team returns to action on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, when they compete at the York College Twilight Meet in York, Pennsylvania. Â
