Three personal-best marks were recorded by the Chestnut Hill College Women's Track and Field team as they competed at the Coach Pollard Invitational, hosted by Moravian College Saturday in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
Aubrey Elias had two personal-best times competing in both the 800 and 1500 meter races. In the 800, Elias finished 19th overall with a time of 2:40.63, the fastest i800-run by a Griffins' runner this season. She added a 13th place finish in the 1,500-meter race with a personal best time of 5:27.15.
Sprinter Solanje James ran a personal-best time of 13.86 in the 100 meter dash.
Chestnut Hill competitors also produced three additional top 25 finishes in the meet, which was cut short by storms and lightning with some field events along with the 200 meter and 4x400 relays not being contested or finalized.
Sydney Watts was tenth in the 5000 meter run with a time of 20:09.99 to record the CHC women's team's best finish at the meet. Lilly Short and Rebecca Dalton were 21st and 22nd in the 800-meter race with times of 2:41.30 and 2:42.97 respectively.
Freshman Erin McCarthy made her collegiate debut in the javelin throw, placing 22nd with a throw of 21.35 meters (70'). Fiona Goeckel also competed in the long jump.  Anastasia Watson was scheduled for the discus and was set to begin the competition when the meet was called due to the storms.
The Women's track and field team returns to action on Saturday, April 29, 2023, as they compete at the College of New Jersey Invitational in Trenton, New Jersey.
