Seven members of the Chestnut Hill College Men's Lacrosse team, led by senior goalkeeper Austin Jones have been named to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference All-CACC Men's Lacrosse team in an announcement Monday morning by the conference office.  The league's eight coaches voted on the all- conference teams.

Jones was voted the CACC Goalkeeper of the Year and earned First Team all-CACC accolades.  The senior goalie has had a stellar season, leading the NCAA in goal against average (7.00) and save percentage (63.1%) while allowing the fewest goals among all CACC goalkeepers (80).   Jones has an 8-4 record and earlier this season became the Griffins' all-time winningest goalie with his 26th win.  He currently has 30 for his career.  In the Griffins final home game of the season, Jones also became the second player in program history to record 500 career saves, reaching the mark with his fourth save in the game.  Jones currently has 517 career saves.

This year's selection is the third for Jones who was a CACC Second Team honoree in 2019 and again last season.  He was also named the 2022 CACC Tournament Most Valuable Player.

Joining Jones as first Team honorees are defender Dan Grubb, short stick defensive midfielder Jack Clyne and faceoff specialist Zach Schultz.

Second team honorees for the Griffins include attacker Noah Hammon, Defender RJ Rybicki and short stick defensive midfielder Chase Snyder.

Grubb along with Snyder lead the Griffins in caused turnovers with 17 apiece (tied for eighth in the league).  Snyder, a 2022 Second Team all-CACC honoree is also second on the team with 34 ground balls while Grubb is third with 27.

Leading the team in ground balls is Schultz with 108 (second in the CACC).  The senior faceoff specialist has won 155 of 242 faceoffs this season for a 64% average (2nd in the CACC and ninth in NCAA Division II).  Schultz has been named to the CACC Weekly Honor roll three times this season.

Clyne, a graduate student and the anchor on the Griffins' midfield defense, has 20 points on the season and is sixth on the team with 21 ground balls.  He has started in all 13 games for the Griffins and has recorded a career best 20 shots on goal this season.

Hammon has turned in a stellar rookie campaign, scoring 31 goals and leading the team with 41 points.  The freshman attack has had at least one point in all 13 games this season and has scored in goal in 12 of the Griffins 13 contests.  He had a seven-goal game against Bridgeport and a six-goal game against Felician.   Hammon has earned Player and rookie of the Week twice in the same week, earned an additional rookie of the Week honor and was twice named to thew Weekly honor roll this season.

Rybicki has started all 13 games on defense and is fifth on the team with 23 ground balls.  He along with Grubb anchor Chestnut Hill's defense.

The Griffins earned the #2 seed for the upcoming CACC playoffs and will face a familiar foe in Wilmington University on Friday at Post University.  The two teams met in last year's CACC Championship match, won by the Griffins 13-12.  Chestnut Hill won the regular season contest against Wilmington this year, defeating the Wildcats 15-10.
