Chestnut Hill College Baseball player Marlon Rose has been named to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Baseball All-Conference team in an announcement made by the conference office Tuesday morning.

The all-conference teams are voted on by the league's 11 head coaches.  Rose was chosen as a second team honoree.

The Griffins' top reliever for 2023, Rose appeared in 23 games this season, the most by a CHC pitcher since Dino Cattai pitched in 23 games in 2017 and two shy of the school record of 25 set by Micah Winterstein in 2013.

Rose produced a 6-5 record on the season, tying for the second highest win total in the league.  He led the team and ranks fifth in the CACC in earned run average (4.10) and saves (3) and was one of three pitchers on this year's squad to strikeout out 40 or more batters with 43 on the season.

The sophomore reliever had a stretch of four games early in the season earning either a win or a save and was 3-0 with two saves in his first nine appearances of 2023.  He struck out a season high five batters in a three-inning no-decision vs. queen's in February and struck out three or more batters in eight of his 23 appearances.

Rose earned CACC pitcher of the Week honors for the week ending March 13, 2023 earning a win and two saves while giving up one hit and no runs during a 3-1 week for the Griffins.

The Griffins' baseball team concluded their season with an 18-27 overall record and a 12-12 mark in league play.
