Chestnut Hill College Athletics Inducts 27 Student-Athletes into Chi Alpha Sigma

Philadelphia, Pa. - (4/29/2024) – On Sunday, April 28, 2024, the Chestnut Hill College Department of Athletics and Recreation held their annual Chi Alpha Sigma Induction Ceremony in conjunction with the 3rd  annual Griffins Awards Show.  Director of Athletics and Recreation, Jesse Balcer, , Faculty Athletics Representative (FAR) Rita Borzillo, and Associate Director of Athletics Denise Wisniewski were pleased to announce the Chi Alpha Sigma Alpha Epsilon Chapter Class of 2024.

Former Assistant Director of Athletics for Academic Success and Community Engagement Sarah Machcinski presided over the induction ceremony.  

The 2024 class includes 27 student-athletes  who have achieved junior academic standing (or higher) any time after the completion of their fifth full time semester; maintain a cumulative grade-point average (GPA) of 3.5, or higher; participated in their sport and are in good standing with their team; and displays good moral character.
 
Chi Alpha Sigma; the National College Athlete Honor Society is a nonprofit organization founded in 1996 by DePauw University Head Football Coach Nick Mourouzis to recognize collegiate student-athletes who excel both on and off the field of competition. This is the sixth class of Griffins to join the order as Chestnut Hill College joined Chi Alpha Sigma during the 2017-2018 scholastic year.  Chestnut Hill College has now inducted a total of 187 student-athletes into Chi Alpha Sigma since receiving their charter from the organization in the fall of 2017.
