2025 CACC Spring Academic Honor Roll

Academic Achievement

Griffins Place 184 Athletes on CACC Spring Academic Honor Roll

Chestnut Hill College student-athletes were well represented as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Commissioner Dan Mara announced the CACC's Spring 2025all 2024 Academic Honor Roll.  A total of 184 Chestnut Hill College student-athletes were recognized in the fall honor roll listing, a decrease of eight from the fall 2024 CACC Academic Honor Roll.

The CACC Academic honor roll initiative was constructed by members of the CACC's Faculty Athletics Representatives (FAR) group, and approved by the league's Presidents' Council in the fall of 2023.  FARs are a vital component of each institution's athletic department as the faculty member serves as a liaison between athletic administrators/coaches/student-athletes and academic administrators/faculty.

Three levels of academic achievement were highlighted. Individuals who earned fall semester GPAs of 3.0-3.49 were placed at the Commissioner's Level, while athletes attaining 3.50-3.99 marks were placed on the Presidents' Level. Student-athletes earning perfect 4.0 GPAs during the fall were lauded as FAR Award of Distinction honorees.

A total of 23 Chestnut Hill student athletes earned the FAR Award of Distinction while 110 were placed on the presidents' level.  Fifty-one Griffin athletes were placed on the Commissioner's level.  The 184 student athletes honored make up 72.3% of all the eligible Chestnut Hill athletes at the institution.  Twenty of the honorees compete in more than one sport.  Sprint football athletes are not included as they are members of the Collegiate Sprint Football League (CSFL) and not the CACC.  In addition, men's tennis athletes were not included as the conference no longer sponsors the sport.

Baseball placed 27 athletes on the CACC Academic Honor roll while men's lacrosse had 24 athletes earn conference academic honor roll status.  The women's soccer team had 21 of their athletes named to the academic honor roll while the softball team  placed 16 athletes.

The women's basketball program had the highest percentage of their athletes earn CACC Academic honor roll status placing 15 of their 16 (93.8%) athletes on the honor roll list while the men's basketball team placed 14 of their 16 athletes (87.5%).  Other Chestnut Hill teams that placed at least 70% of their respective athletes on the CACC Academic honor roll include women's soccer – 84% (21/25); women's tennis  - 83.3% (5/6); women's lacrosse 72.2% (13/18); women's bowling  - 71.4% (10/14); women's volleyball – 71.4% (10/14) and  men's lacrosse – 70.4% (24/34).

The CACC is proud of its academic success as the conference boasts the smallest geographic footprint of any league in NCAA Division II. Each member schools is located within four hours of each other, which means no overnight trips are necessary for in-season conference games. Less time traveling means more time for student-athletes in the classroom and competing in the sports they love. The Spring 2024 Academic Honor Roll numbers support the conference's claim of less travel and more class time produces outstanding academic numbers.

A total of 2,353 student athletes from the CACC's 13 institutions which include Lincoln University as an associate member for baseball and women's soccer were named to the CACC Academic Honor Roll.
