On Friday, May 8, 2026, the Chestnut Hill College Department of Athletics and Recreation held their annual Chi Alpha Sigma Induction Ceremony in conjunction with the 5th annual Griffins Awards Show. Director of Athletics and Recreation, Jesse Balcer, Faculty Athletics Representative (FAR) Rita Borzillo, Assistant Athletic Director for Academic Success Jesse Zafiratos and Associate Director of Athletics Denise Wisniewski were pleased to announce the Chi Alpha Sigma Alpha Epsilon Chapter Class of 2026 which included 28 student-athletes.
Chi Alpha Sigma; the National College Athlete Honor Society is a nonprofit organization founded in 1996 by DePauw University Head Football Coach Nick Mourouzis to recognize collegiate student-athletes who excel both on and off the field of competition.
Director of Athletics Jesse Balcer presided over this year's induction ceremony.
The 2026 class includes 28 student-athletes who have achieved junior academic standing (or higher) any time after the completion of their fifth full time semester and been at Chestnut Hill for at least two full time semesters; maintain a cumulative grade-point average (GPA) of 3.5, or higher; participated in their sport and are in good standing with their team; and displays good moral character.
The 28 inductees combined to have a collective cumulative grade point average of 3.77 with 14 of the Griffins' 19 sports represented. The Women's Soccer team led the way with five inductees.
This is the ninth class of Griffins to join the order as Chestnut Hill College joined Chi Alpha Sigma during the 2017-2018 scholastic year. Chestnut Hill College has now inducted a total of 270 student-athletes into Chi Alpha Sigma since receiving their charter from the organization in the fall of 2017.
