Cleveland, Ohio - The Chestnut Hill College Athletics programs had a total of 87 honorees on the Division 2 Athletics Directors Association (D2 ADA) 2025-26 Academic Achievement Awards list as announced by the organization Wednesday morning. The Academic Achievement Awards, in its 19th year, is a program that recognizes the academic accomplishments of student-athletes at the Division II level.
The Griffins' 87 honorees marks the fifth consecutive year that the Chestnut Hill College athletics program has had 85 or more honorees as D2ADA Academic Achievement Award winners Seven of this year's nominees were recognized in more than one sport.
Chestnut Hill's 87 honorees are the seventh highest total among the ten Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference schools that submitted nominees. Post University led the way with 133 honorees.
In order for a student-athlete to receive an Academic Achievement Award, the athletics director of the Division II institution MUST BE a CURRENT dues-paying member of the D2 ADA.
Also, the student-athlete must:
- have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale
- have attended a minimum of two years (four semesters) of college level work
- have been an active member of an intercollegiate team during his/her last academic year
According to the D2ADA, a total of 21,000-plus student-athletes were recognized from 179 institutions for the 2025-26 Academic Achievement Awards.
Seventeen of the Chestnut Hill's 18 NCAA Division II programs were represented with 13 of the 17 teams representing with three or more honorees. Four Griffin athletic teams had at least eight honorees with the women's soccer team leading the way with 15. Baseball fielded nine honorees while the men's lacrosse and women's lacrosse, produced eight honorees respectively.
