Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Men's Tennis East Region Rankings
Tempe, Ariz. - (3/23/2021) – Chestnut Hill College has enjoyed a 2-1 start to their 2021 schedule, earning victories over National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I opponent Loyola University (Md.) (W, 4-3 on March 13) and Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) rival, Dominican College (W, 4-3 on March 21). As a result, the Griffins recently earned a #6 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) East Regional Ranking.

Chestnut Hill College opened their 2020-2021 schedule at Ambler, Pennsylvania's Upper Dublin Sports Center, where they lost to St. Joseph's University by a 4-3 final. Junior Gregory Joseph Kvint (Hungtingdon Valley, Pa.), and freshmen Domagoj Dugandzic (Stuttgart, Germany), and Joao Sousa (Pontevedra, Spain) scored consecutive Scarlet and Gold singles wins in the second (6-4, 7-6 (7-6)), fifth (6-3, 7-6 (6-4)), and fourth (2-6, 6-0, 7-6 (7-3)) flights, but the Chestnut Hill College rally would fall just shy of its mark as the Hawks concluded the match with a 6-4, 3-6, 7-5, win at number six singles, 4-3.

On Saturday, March 13, Chestnut Hill College hosted Loyola University (Md.) for a home-opening dual match. The match came down to the wire with Dugandzic and junior Mark Gladkyy (Franklinville, N.J.) respectively scoring the game-winning points in the fourth (6-1, 6-4) and fifth (6-4, 6-4) singles flights to secure a 4-3 victory over the Greyhounds. Despite forfeiting number three doubles, Chestnut Hill College secured the team point with wins in the first (6-1) and second (6-4) flights. The point proved crucial as the Griffins split singles play with Dominican College and in doing so, recorded their first Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) victory of the season; 4-3. Junior Tom Pitchley (London, England), senior Kiki Dagneaux (Saint-Gervasy, France), and Sousa each played a role in two Scarlet and Gold points as they provided the necessary individual victories to outlast the Chargers.
