Dennis Draws CACC Honorable Mention

                                                                                                                   
New Haven, CT – (10/18/2011) – While enjoying their best season as member of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC), Chestnut Hill College has placed six student-athletes on the league’s weekly report. This week, sophomore Kelly Dennis (Cincinnati, OH) became the seventh, earning an honorable mention for the league’s player of the week award after with a 2-0 stretch at number two singles and a 1-1 effort with junior Nastia Shcherbakova (Minsk, Belarus) at number one doubles.
 
Last week, Dennis was 2-0 at number two singles and 1-1 at number two doubles for Chestnut Hill College (12-2, 7-1). She scored individual wins over junior Ana S.O. Mendes (Rio De Janeiro, Brazil) of Concordia College and junior Ali Fetter (Stevens, PA) of West Chester University and teamed with Shcherbakova for an 8-3 win against the Golden Rams top doubles team. Dennis is 11-3 at number two singles and 12-2 at number one doubles this season.
 
The women’s tennis team will rematch Goldey-Beacom College in the semifinal round of the upcoming CACC Championship Tournament. As the #2 seed, the Griffins will host the Lightning in a 1:00 p.m. match at Concordia College (NY) on Saturday, October 22.
