Chestnut Hill College Athletics

Posting a 4-1 record in both singles and doubles play this week, sophomore Adrian Avena (Vineland, NJ) earned an honorable mention among the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) weekly award winners. Chestnut Hill College went 3-2 for the week, which included two conference wins over Caldwell College.

Avena recorded a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Dane Ostilly (Westport, CT) of Concordia College helping Chestnut Hill College (11-10, 5-5) earn their first point over the Region's #1 team. Avena also went 4-1 at number three doubles, competing with sophomore David Negron (Philadelphia, PA); their only loss coming to the Clippers. Avena is 10-3 at number six singles this season and 12-6 with Negron at number three doubles. He was the CACC Player of the Week on March 23.

The men’s tennis team host Bloomfield College in their next CACC match, which is scheduled for a 4:00 p.m. start on Thursday, April 15.
