With the conclusion of the 2009-2010 regular season, the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) announced the members of the men’s basketball all-conference teams. Sophomore forward Dan Comas (Philadelphia, Pa.) earned an honorable mention as the lone recognized Griffin. Junior guard Gage Daye (Newark, N.J.) of Bloomfield College was selected as the conference’s Player of the Year and Dominican College’s freshman point guard, Leon Porter (Laurel, Md.) earned the Rookie of the Year title. Philadelphia University’s Herb Magee took coach of the year honors after directing the Rams to third straight CACC South Division Title.

Comas finished the regular season as one of two players in the CACC to average a double-double. He posted 10.8 points-per-game (PPG) and 10.2 rebounds-per-game (RPG), after elevating his play in the second half of the season. Following New Year’s, Comas averaged 12.7 PPG and 11.9 RPG leading Chestnut Hill College (11-5, 7-10) to a 7-8 record in the final two months. He finished as the team’s fourth leading scorer. Comas recorded ten, double-doubles this season with 33 points, 18 rebounds, a block, and two steals against USIP on February 21, serving as his career-game to date. The 33 points was a personal high and the 18 rebounds set a College record; but more significantly it clinched the Griffins’ second consecutive appearance in the CACC Championship Tournament. Comas shot 48.6% (104-of-214) from the field and 62.4% (73-of-117) at the line this season; he also led the team in blocks (29) and made 19 steals.

Daye led the CACC in scoring (26.0 PPG) and steals (74) while directing Bloomfield College to a CACC North Division Championship with a 20-7 overall mark and a 14-4 conference record. Daye also ranked second in assists (4.6/game), ninth in free throw shooting (193-of-258, 74.8%), and 14th in rebounding (6.3/game). Porter provided 5.4 assists-per-game as the league top distributor. He led Dominican College to a third place finish in the CACC North Division with a 14-15 overall record and 10-8 conference standing. Magee became the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) all-time leader in wins as he collected his 903rd victory on February, 23.
