CACC Recognizes DeAnnutis With
Player of the Week Honorable Mention
 
New Haven, CT – (3/14/2011) – The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) recognized junior catcher Gina DeAnnutis (Hammonton, NJ) with a honorable mention for the Player of the Week award after she led Chestnut Hill College to a 1-5 week at the Rebel spring Games. DeAnnutis batted .412 (7-for-17) with three doubles and six runs-batted-in (RBI).
 
DeAnnutisposted a .588 slugging percentage and a .565 on-base percentage to lead Chestnut Hill College (1-5) in Florida. In the Griffins lone win, a DeAnnutis, two-out single made it 4-1 in the fifth inning allowing sophomore pitcher Veronica Wilenta (Brick, NJ) to take care of the rest. DeAnnutis was 1-for-3 with a run and a RBI in both games on March 7. She hit 2-for-6 on March 8, including a two-run double in the loss to Wheeling Jesuit University. On the final day of competition, March 9, she was 3-for-5 with two RBI.
 
The softball team returns home to visit Lincoln University in a 2:30 p.m. doubleheader on Thursday, March 17.
