Galantich Gets Rerun on CACC Women’s Lacrosse Weekly Honor Roll

New Haven, Conn. – (4/2/2018) – Senior attack Julia Galantich (Clinton Corners, N.Y.) totaled nine points (8 goals, 1 assist) in a 1-2 to for Chestnut Hill College and garnered herself a spot on the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women’s Lacrosse Weekly Honor Roll. Galantich totaled four points in each of the Griffins first two games of the week versus Jefferson University and the University of the District of Columbia (UDC), before recording the Scarlet and Gold’s only tally in a  one-sided loss to #18 the New York Institute of Technology (NYIT).

Taking the field for the first time in over a week, Chestnut Hill College (3-4, 0-1) visited Jefferson University for their CACC season opener on Tuesday afternoon. The Lady Rams welcomed the Griffins with a sizeable 8-0 lead that the Scarlet and Gold reduced to as few as five goals, 14-9, before ultimately defeating Chestnut Hill College by seven goals, 18-11. Galantich and junior midfielder Julia Reinert (Bridgeport, Pa.) scored three goals apiece to lead the Griffins; the former added an assist, a ground ball, and four draws, while the latter also recovered a ground ball and corralled three draws.

Senior midfielder Hunter Leckonby (Charleston, S.C.) was the cog that facilitated Chestnut Hill College a 13-3 halftime advantage at the UDC. She scored all five of her goals in the opening frame and finished with six points after finding Reinert for the 18th goal (18:46) of a 21-5 Griffin triumph over the Firebirds. Galantich scored the first Griffin goal of the affair with an unassisted tally at 27:31. She finished with four goals, two ground balls, and four draws.

Then, on a sunny, but brisk Saturday afternoon, Chestnut Hill College hosed NYIT for a Senior Day affair. Galantich scored the Griffins first and only goal of the contest as the Bears rattled off 20 unanswered goals over the remaining 28:44, 20-1.

The Chestnut Hill College women’s lacrosse team returns to their CACC schedule on Monday, April 2, when they visit Caldwell University for a 4:00 p.m. contest.
