Albert Stroble's 100
th collegiate coaching victory with a flawless 9-0 sweep of Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) rival, Post University. The Griffins failed to surrender a single point in any match, double or singles, shutting the Eagles out in every flight.
In the opening round of doubles, junior
Charlotte Dawson (Odessa, Texas) and freshman
Marie Deleval (Grimaud, France) led off the Chestnut Hill College (5-0, 4-0) lineup with an 8-0 win at number one doubles. The Griffins beat Post University (0-6, 0-4) by the same score at number two and number three doubles, 8-0, thanks to the combined efforts of senior
Kelly Dennis (Cincinnati, Ohio) and sophomore
Iman Williams-Mulesa (Pickering, Ontario), and junior
Morgan Oechsle (Coopersburg, Pa.) and sophomore
Hayley Craskey (Aston, Pa.), respectively.
Individual competitions went just as easily for Griffins, who took every singles match by a 6-0, 6-0 final; Dawson won number one singles, Williams-Mulesa was triumphant at number two, Deleval victorious at number three, Dennis took number four, Oechsle claimed number five, and sophomore
Axe Owens (Trenton, N.J.) won the sixth singles flight.
The women's tennis team continues CACC play tomorrow, Saturday, September 28, with a 12:00 p.m. match against Caldwell College.
