Edward McWade (Wildwood, N.J.) found himself in the right place at the right time all night long, accumulating a career-high 21 points, seven rebounds, two assists, and a steal in a 80-72 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) triumph over Georgian Court University. The Griffins used an 11-point halftime advantage, 45-34, and a better perimeter shooting performance (52.9% - 19.2% 3PT) to overcome the Lions.

Dakpe Yiljep (Samaru-Zaria, Nigeria) accelerated Chestnut Hill College (3-4, 1-0) to a 45-34 halftime lead. Sophomore guard
Demetrius Isaac (Philadelphia, Pa.) took the wheel first, handing out four assists while the Griffins' Cerberus combined for 38 of Chestnut Hill College's points. The Chestnut Hill College advantage topped out at 15 points, 40-25, late in the frame with McWade knocking down a three-pointer with 2:24 to play in the first half. Still, a quick rally by the Lions cut the deficit to eight points, 42-34 (0:26), before the halftime spread settled at 11, 45-34 (0:03), on a last possession three from Dickson.
After intermission the Lions continued their resurgence, cutting the Griffin lead to four points, 47-43, with 17:47 left to play. But back-to-back three-point plays from McWade and senior captain
Noel Hightower (Easton, Pa.) brought Chestnut Hill College's favor back to 10 points, 53-43 (16:15). The Lions threatened a couple times, cutting the lead to single digits four times before Yiljep returned to the limelight with six points in a seven-point rush that left the Griffin advantage at 13 points, 72-59, just after the four-minute mark (3:52). Georgian Court University never recovered, trailing the home team by eight points, 80-72, as the final horn sounded.
The Lions out rebounded the home side 43-35 and held an eight-point advantage at the free throw line behind junior forward Keith Hughes (Woodbridge, N.J.) who led the Georgian Court University pride with 17 points, 13 rebounds, an assist, a block, and two steals. Sophomore guard Juwuan Carter (Paterson, N.J.) led the Lions in scoring with 18 points, while frontcourt partners, freshman Nikola Vujovic (Novi Sad, Serbia) and junior Luka Zgonjanin (Belgrade, Serbia) respectively provided 11 points and 11 rebounds.
McWade was efficient, hitting 8-of-12 (.667) from the floor and 4-of-5 (.800) from the free throw line in his standout performance. Yiljep also scored a career-high with is 17 points. He hit 3-of-4 (.750) from long range while also recording a rebound and an assist. Dickson and Isaac combined for 11 assists, the former combining his six with 15 points and a steal.
