Box Score Lafayette Hill, Pa. – (4/14/2016) – Six straight it is for Chestnut Hill College, who got their first-ever victory, 6-5, over Central Atlantic College Conference (CACC) rival, Georgian Court University and fifth straight league win in a highly competitive contest. The Scarlet and Gold held a 4-2 halftime edge thanks to a pair of late first-half scores from freshman midfielder
Julia Reinert (Bridgeport, Pa.) and sophomore midfielder
Hunter Leckonby (Charleston, S.C.). The Lions outscored the Griffins 3-2 in the latter period, but again late scores, this time from senior midfielder
Emorie Keimig (Freeland, Md.) and junior midfielder
Rachel Perry (Gilbertsville, Pa.) rallied the Griffins to a valuable league triumph.
Georgian Court University (3-9, 3-2) scored the first two tallies of the contest, the first unassisted (1-0 at 24:19) and the second; a free position shot (2-0 at 23:55), in the opening six minutes. Chestnut Hill College (7-5, 5-0) immediately cut the deficit to one goal with Leckonby recovering the draw control and hustling the offensive half of the field for her first goal of the game, 2-1 (23:38). Julia Galantich (Clinton Corners, N.Y.) evened the spread with an unassisted tally, 2-2. Reinert and Leckonby provided the separation, completing the period-ending, four-goal run with scores set up by Keimig and junior midfielder

The halftime huddle reorganized the Lions, who ended a 15-minute stalemate with a pair of scores. The tallies from senior attack Melissa Williams (Egg Harbor Township, N.J.) and freshman attack Samantha Fernandez (Toms River, N.J.) who evened the spread at 4-4 with goals at 15:10 (4-3) and 10:36 (4-4), respectively. A third Lion goal at 8:39 (5-4) increased the tension heading to the fleeting minutes, but that is where the Scarlet and Gold shined through with well-executed connections between Galantich and Keimig (5-5 at 6:41), and Reinert and Perry (6-5 at 5:48), clinching a critical win on Victory Field #1.
The Lions were led by Williams and Fernandez, who each scored two goals. Fernandez added an assist to her successful pair. Defense was provided by senior midfielder Callie Brown (Toms River, N.J.) and senior goalkeeper Stephanie Lehner (Howell, N.J.). Brown recorded two ground balls and two caused turnovers while Lehner made 10 saves and recovered three ground balls.
Leckonby was one of many stars in the Griffins' historic performance. She led the Scarlet and Gold with two goals, three ground balls, three draws, and three caused turnovers. Keimig, Galantich, and Reinert all record two points, while Perry's game-winner was her lone score in an effort that included three ground balls, a draw, and two caused turnovers. Junior goalkeeper
Katie Joe Lang (Manassas, Va.) made five saves and collected two ground balls in the win (7-5).
