Box Score Waterbury, Conn. – (4/9/2016) – Recording a fifth straight win and a third with a goal total of 20 or more, the formidable Chestnut Hill College women's lacrosse team triumphed over a fourth consecutive Central Atlantic College Conference (CACC) opponent, Post University, by a 22-8 final. The Griffins began the affair with a 12-0 run and despite a running second-half clock advanced their advantage to 15-4 before a brief Eagle rebuttal was overshadowed by the Scarlet and Gold's six-goal flurry to the final horn. A command performance was provided by junior attack
Samantha Herron (Cinnaminson, N.J.), who totaled a career-highs in goals (5) and draw controls (11) in addition to an assist, three ground balls, and a caused turnover.
She scored the first two goals of the game within 23 seconds of each other; the first unassisted at 26:35 (1-0) and the second off a pass from sophomore midfielder

Emorie Keimig (Freeland, Md.) on the next Griffin goal, which came just before the 25-minute mark (25:01) of the first half, 3-0. Chestnut Hill College (6-5, 4-0) marched on from there with
Jacklyn O'Leary (East Meadow, N.Y.) scoring a pair of unassisted goals at 24:31 (4-0) and 23:18 (5-0) before Leckonby did the same at 22:03 (6-0) and 21:32, 7-0. Five more Scarlet and Gold scores were netted before Post University (0-10, 0-4) issued a response, the last coming at the seven-minute mark (7:00) on a unassisted strike from freshman midfielder
Julia Reinert (Bridgeport, Pa.), 12-0. The Eagle run trimmed the intermission margin to 10 goals, 14-4, setting the second half up for a running clock.
Fighting time, the Eagles' rally carried over into the second half where a 4-2 stretch that lasted the first 20 minutes of the frame brought them back within eight goals of the Griffins16-8 at 11:57. But this time it was the Griffins who controlled the latter minutes of the period as consecutive scores from junior midfielder
Rachel Perry (Gilbertsville, Pa.) (17-8 at 8:11), sophomore attack
Julia Galantich (Clinton Corners, N.Y.) (18-8 at 6:50), Leckonby (at 5:28 and 1:51, 20-8), Herron (21-8 at 0:58), and Galantich (22-8 at 0:05) once again left the final in their favor, 22-8.
Sophomore midfielder Toni Deren (Greenlawn, N.Y.) and senior defender Jasana Levy (Meriden, Conn.) each recorded three goals to lead the Eagles' effort. Sophomore midfielders Samantha Rodriguez (Wayne, N.J.) and Savannah Schwack (Manorville, N.Y.) provided the others; Rodriguez add hers to a solid performance that included two ground balls, three draws, and two caused turnovers. Freshman goalkeeper Rachel Lancaster (Plainville, Conn.) made three saves and recovered a ground ball in the loss (0-2).
Herron's production was complimented by four-goal efforts from Keimig and Leckonby. Each of them also recorded four ground balls, but Leckonby also located a career-high five assists and hustled to three ground balls. O'Leary, Perry, Galantich, and Reinert all scored twice, while a solo score from junior midfielders
Lea Sanders (North Merrick, N.Y.) accounted for the remaining Griffin goal. Junior
Katie Joe Lang (Manassas, Va.) earned the win (6-5) with five saves in the first half.
