Box Score Lafayette Hill, Pa. – (4/17/2018) – In a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) playoff-type atmosphere, Chestnut Hill College concluded their home schedule and hosted Georgian Court University in an epic Senior Day affair. After paying respect to their graduating class, the Griffins battled the Lions tooth-and-nail in an eventual 10-8 loss. Junior attack
Casey Brown (Havre de Grace, Md.) served as playmaker for the Scarlet and Gold offense, tying his career-high with five points (3 goals, 2 assists).
Brown gave Chestnut Hill College (5-9, 2-2) the initial advantage with a slick score off a feed from sophomore attack
Scott Wilden (Wexford, Pa.) at 12:21 of the first quarter, 1-0. Unfortunately, Georgian Court University (8-6, 4-0) score twice before the end of the frame to take a 2-1 lead moving forward. Brown repaid Wilden at the start of the second quarter as the duo combined to tie the contest, 2-2, at 11:40. But a man-up Lion goal inspired the visitors to a 4-3 halftime advantage. After the break, Georgian Court University briefly extended their lead to 5-3 (12:21), before a 4-1 Griffin run put the Scarlet and Gold in the driver's seat heading to the final frame, 7-6. There, Brown gave Chestnut Hill College a two-goal cushion, 8-6 (11:05), with his third goal of the game. But, the Lions netted the last four goals of the affair to escape Victory Field #1 with a 10-8 league win.
Senior attack Michael Saladino (Springfield, N.J.) led Georgian Court University with three goals, an assist, and three ground balls. He was supported by three-point efforts from junior attack Connor Houghton (Egg Harbor Township, N.J.) and senior midfielder Jeffrey Garatola (Jackson, N.J.), who both provided two goals and an assist. In goal, sophomore Austin Geissel (Pompton Plains, N.J.) (8-5) totaled 13 saves and a ground ball.
