Casey Brown (Havre de Grace, Md.) remained hot in this afternoon's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) and regular season finale at Wilmington University, where he racked up a career-high seven points (4 goals and 3 assists) in a 16-6 Chestnut Hill College triumph. The Griffins doubled up the Wildcats in the first quarter, 4-2, and used an 8-2 second-quarter burst to retire their hosts by a 10-goal margin.
Wilmington University (4-8, 2-3) scored the first goal of the affair (1-0, 12:11), but Brown deposited the next two tallies (9:58, 7:14) for Chestnut Hill College (6-9, 3-2), who used the momentum to forge a 4-1 lead before the Wildcats next score (4-2, 4:00). Dylan Klusaritz (Slatington, Pa.) scored twice apiece in the streak and the latter added a third to carry the Scarlet and Gold to a 12-4 halftime edge. With the game well in hand, the Griffins replaced senior goalkeeper
Matthew Pedrick (New Milford, N.J.) (5-9) with sophomore
Stephen Hogan Jr. (Doylestown, Pa.). He and the Scarlet and Gold defense made sure that Wilmington University stayed at arm's length in an eventual 10-goal discrepancy, 16-6.
Junior attack Dylan McCleaft (Media, Pa.) led the Wilmington University outfit with two goals. He also recorded two ground balls and had support from several other Wildcats; most notably, classmate, defenseman Kyle Leary (Brick, N.J.), who offered a goal, three ground balls, and a caused turnover. Freshman goalkeeper Noah Given (Middletown, Del.) (4-8) totaled 22 saves and five ground balls in the loss.
Brown enjoyed his second straight game with five points or more, scoring four times and providing two assists in excess of four ground balls and two caused turnovers. Lyle and Klusaritz finished with three goals and two ground balls apiece; the latter also caused a turnover. Junior attack
