But Fitzgerald's unassisted tally at 17:38 reenergized the Griffins and eventually stood as the game-winner as the Scarlet and Gold outscored the Cougars 5-2 the rest of the way, 15-9.
Junior midfielder Rachel Lucia (Egg Harbor Township, N.J.) and senior attack Pamela Schenck (East Moriches, N.Y.) scored three goals apiece for Caldwell University, but Lucia added an assist, four ground balls, three draws, and four caused turnovers to serve as the Cougars top performer. In goal, junior Nancy Benedetto (Jupiter, Fla.) (1-6) totaled 14 saves.
With her five tallies, Galantich currently rests two goals shy of the century mark; she added a ground ball, nine draws, and a caused turnover to her seven point performance. Fitzgerald offered three goals, one assist, a ground ball, a draw, and two caused turnovers, while Reinert finished the contest with two goals, an assist, six ground balls, two draws, and five caused turnovers.
