The Series:
Saturday's game will be the seventh meeting between these two teams and the fourth at Sorgenti Arena. The Griffins have won all three previous games at Sorgenti and hold a 5-1 lead in the overall series with their only loss coming in 2015 at Mercy, 77-66. The series began in 2011 and the two teams last met in 2017 with the Griffins winning 81-76 at Sorgenti arena.
Non-Conference Action
Chestnut Hill is 4-3 in non-conference games so far this season following their 60-55 overtime loss to Kutztown Wednesday night. Â Chestnut Hill's four non-conference wins came against St. Thomas Aquinas College on last Sunday (61-52); West chester University on 11/21 (80-68); Millersville University on 11/17 (66-45) and Queens College on 11/14 (71-67). The Griffins other two losses came against Molloy (51-66) and Bloomsburg (57-63)
About the Griffins:
The Griffins enter today's game with a 6-3 record following a 60-55 overtime loss at home against Kutztown. The loss snapped the Griffins' three-game win streak to start the month of December. Chestnut Hill received a vote in this week's D2SIDA East Region poll and are ranked 13

Three players are averaging double figures this season led by
Leah Miller's 16.4 points per game. Miller has played in eight of the Griffins first nine games having missed the last contest due to an injury. Miller also leads the team with 10.1 rebounds per game and is shooting 77.1% from the free throw line and 52.0% from the field. She ranks among the top five in the CACC in scoring average, rebounds/game and field goals/game. Miller leads the team with four double-doubles.
Emily Chmiel is averaging 14.0 points per game and is third in the CACC shooting 58.3% from the field. Chmiel also is shooting 87.5% from the free throw line (5
th in CACC) Â and is second on the team averaging 8.8 rebounds per game.
Point guard
Cassie Sebold is averaging 13.3 points per game and leads the team with 56 assists (2
nd in CACC, 3
rd  in NCAA) and 15 steals.  Sebold has a team high 11 three-point field goals made on the season. Â
Morgan Orloski leads the team shooting 44.4% from beyond the three-point arc.
Last Time Out
The Chestnut Hill College women's basketball team battled back from a ten-point deficit late in the third quarter to force overtime against regionally ranked Kutztown University. The Bears however prevailed in the extra period and hung on to defeat the Griffins 60-55 win Wednesday night at Sorgenti Arena.
Chestnut Hill falls to 6-3 overall while Kutztown, ranked sixth in the most recent D2SIDA Atlantic Region poll, improves to 8-3

Chmiel Named CACC Defensive Player of the Week;Â Miller Named to CACC Weekly Honor Roll for Third Time
A pair of Chestnut Hill College Women's Basketball players were recognized by the Central Atlantic collegiate Conference for their performance in the Griffins' three games last week asÂ
Emily Chmiel was named the CACC Women's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week andÂ
Leah Miller was named to the CACC Women's Basketball Weekly Honor Roll.
Chmiel was previously recognized as the CACC Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week for the week ending November 21, 2021 while Miller earns weekly honor roll accolades for the third time in four weeks this season.
As one of the Griffins' first players off the bench, Chmiel grabbed 22 defensive rebounds, had seven blocks and three steals in leading Chestnut Hill to a 3-0 record and a perfect 2-0 conference record to start the CACC portion of their schedule.
For the week, Chmiel averaged 7.3 defensive rebounds, 9.7 total rebounds, 2.3 blocks and one steal per game. She also averaged 11 points per game while shooting 52% from the field (13-25).
Miller scored 54 points and grabbed 33 rebounds in the Griffins' three games. The senior forward shot 59.5% (25-42)  from the field and recorded two double-doubles , narrowly missing a third by just one rebound.
For the week, Miller averaged 18.0 points, 11.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and one steal per game.

Moving up the Ranks
Early this season,
Cassie Sebold moved into second place on the Griffins' all-time assist list and now has 376 for her career. Sebold also moved into 8
th place on the Griffins all-time scoring list following Saturday's Goldey-Beacom game and now has 1,072 career points. She also moved into sixth place on the Griffins' all-time list with 144 three-point field goals made.Â
Leah Miller has moved up to 8
th place on Chestnut Hill's all-time rebound list with 479.  Â
Sebold Joins the 1,000 Point Club
Cassie Sebold made five free throws in the final 1:41 of the game and scored the 1,000
th point of her college career as the Chestnut Hill College Women's Basketball Team overcame a four point fourth quarter deficit and rallied to defeat West Chester University 80-68 on November 21, 2021
Sebold, a senior guard and the team's leading scorer for the 2019-20 season, entered the game needing 15 points to become the tenth player in program history to reach the coveted 1,000-point plateau. She was still eight points shy of the mark as the teams entered the fourth quarter and six points shy as the game entered the final three minutes. Sebold made a driving layup at the 2:59 mark tying the game. The senior guard then went to free throw line three times in the final 1:41.  Sebold's first free throw in her final trip to the charity stripe (with 30 seconds left) was the milestone reaching point. She also made the second which provided the final 12-point margin of victory and gave her 16 points on the afternoon.
An Impressive Debut
Freshman
Emily Chmiel came off the bench on Saturday, November 13 to score 10 points and grab a team high nine rebounds in the Griffins 66-51 loss to Molloy. The 6-2 freshman also had three blocks and two steals against the Lions. Chmiel was the Griffins top rebounder the next day grabbing seven boards in CHC's win over Queens while scoring 13 points.  Â

Scouting the Mavericks
Mercy College is 3-5 overall following a 66-57 win over St. Thomas Aquinas College Wednesday night in their East Coast Conference Opener. The win marked the first time the Mavericks won a their ECC opening game since the 2009-10 season.
Mercy is 2-3 against CACC schools this season with their two wins coming against Felician University and Goldey-Beacom College.  Dominican, Bloomfield and Caldwell won their games against the Mavericks.
Katie Wall leads the Mavericks, averaging 18.8 points per game, while Taysha Bender is averaging 15.8 points per game. Wall also leads the team with 38 assists and 21 steals. Her 22 three-point baskets account for nearly half of the team's total of 48
Rebounding -wise the Mavericks have three players averaging over six per game, led by Asha Talib's 7.4 mark. Talib is also averaging 5.1 points per game. Maria Tedesco is pulling down 6.4 rebounds per game while scoring seven points/game and shooting 50% from the field. Kellie Nudd is averaging 6.3 rebounds/game and 9.8 points/game
Last Time Out for Mercy
Powered by three Mavericks scoring in double figures, the Mercy College women's basketball team earned a 66-57 win over St. Thomas Aquinas College in their ECC opener on Wednesday night at Victory Gymnasium.
The Mavericks (3-5, 1-0 ECC) snap a three-game losing streak and win their ECC opener for the first time since 2009.

Katie Wall led the way for the Mavericks with a game-high 17 points with five rebounds. JuniorÂ
Kellie Nudd added 15 points on 4-of-7 shooting with five rebounds and seniorÂ
