The Series
Saturday's game will be the 14
th contest between Caldwell and Chestnut Hill. Caldwell holds a 9-4 lead in the all time series which began in the 2007-08 season, the Griffins' first in the CACC. The Cougars have won the last seven meetings between the two teams. Chestnut Hill's last win came on February 14, 2013 at Caldwell, 75-72. That win is also the griffins only win in six games at the Newman Center.
Conference Action
Chestnut Hill dropped to 8-5 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) games with Wednesday's loss at Dominican College. The Griffins remain in second place in the CACC South Division, three games behind division leader Jefferson and ½ game ahead of third place Goldey-Beacom. Caldwell is 3-9 in CACC games and sit in sixth place in the CACC North division three games behind fifth place Post University.

Dominican College pulled away late midway through the second half as they handed the Chestnut Hill College men's basketball team their second consecutive loss 97-82 Wednesday night at the Hennessy Center in Orangeburg, New York.
The Griffins falls to 11-10 overall and 8-5 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference games. Dominican improves to 16-4 overall and 9-3 in league play.

Nigel Haughton (Bel Air, Md.) chipped in 12 points and had a team high seven rebounds. Warrick and Regan had six rebounds apiece. Haughton led the team with six assists.
The Griffins built an early six-point lead in the first half 20-14 before Dominican charged back with a 15-3 run to take a 29-23 lead with 5:46 left. Baskets by Regan and Warrick closed the gap to two 29-27 but the chargers followed with an 11-4 run to lead 40-31. Two three pointers from Regan cut the lead back to three 40-37 with two minutes left. The two teams played even-up basketball the final two minutes of the half with the Chargers taking a 45-42 lead into the locker room at halftime.
Regan's layup in the early minutes of the second half tied the game at 47-47 before the Chargers pushed their way back on top by five 58-51 with 14:12 left forcing a Griffins timeout. Both teams went toe-to-toe over the next five minutes with the Griffins shaving just one point off the lead, trailing 71-65 with nine minutes left. Haughton's traditional three-point play closed the gap to 73-68 with 7:47 left.  The Chargers followed with a 13-4 run to lead 86-72 with 3:32 left in regulation. Chestnut Hill would get no closer the rest of the way before falling 97-82.

Rider Named to the CACC Weekly Honor Roll and adds PSCBA Honor

(Baltimore, Md.)Â was named to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Weekly honor roll for his performance in the Griffins two games last week.
. In addition, Rider was named to the Philadelphia Small College Basketball Association Weekly Honor Roll for the second time this season Wednesday afternoon
Rider averaged 20.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.0 steals in a 1-1 week for the Griffins.
Opening the week against Goldey-Beacom college, Rider scored a career-high 31 points as the Griffins completed the season series sweep with a 90-71 win. The senior guard shot a very efficient 10-12 from the field and made 6-of-8 from, three point range. He was also a perfect 5-5 from the free throw line. Rider dished out four assists and added a steal in the win.
In the Griffins loss to Bloomfield, Rider scored ten points and added four rebounds as the Griffins dropped a 64-60 decision to the Bears. He also had four rebound and a steal in the loss.
For the week, Rider scored 41 points while shooting 56% (14-25) from the field, including a 7-for-14 (50%) effort from beyond the arc. He was also a perfect 6-6 from the free throw line.

Scouting the Cougars

Gerald Blount each scored 16 points as the Cougars fell to Nyack College 78-63 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match-up.

The Cougars fall to 7-13 overall and 3-9 in the CACC, while the Warriors improve to 9-9 and 7-5 in conference play.

The Warriors built a 21-17 lead midway through the first half. The Cougars scored eight straight points as Blount converted a three-point play, while Cooper connected on a bucket to put Caldwell ahead 25-21 at the 6:37 mark. Nyack made a late run to take a 39-32 lead at halftime.

Nyack got out to a fast start in the second half as they built a lead and held their advantage down the stretch.
