A record number of Chestnut Hill College student-athletes were honored as Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Commissioner Dan Mara announced the CACC's Fall 2025 Academic Honor Roll. A total of 202 Chestnut Hill College student-athletes were recognized in the fall honor roll listing with 11 of those representing 2 or more sports, bringing the total to 213 honorees. This is an increase of 18 from the spring 2025 CACC Academic Honor Roll.
The CACC Academic honor roll initiative was constructed by members of the CACC's Faculty Athletics Representatives (FAR) group, and approved by the league's Presidents' Council in the fall of 2023. FARs are a vital component of each institution's athletic department as the faculty member serves as a liaison between athletic administrators/coaches/student-athletes and academic administrators/faculty.
Three levels of academic achievement were highlighted. Individuals who earned fall semester GPAs of 3.0-3.49 were placed at the Commissioner's Level, while athletes attaining 3.50-3.99 marks were placed on the Presidents' Level. Student-athletes earning perfect 4.0 GPAs during the fall were lauded as FAR Award of Distinction honorees.
A total of 36 Chestnut Hill student athletes earned the FAR Award of Distinction while 123 were placed on the presidents' level. Fifty-four Griffin athletes were placed on the Commissioner's level. The 184 student athletes honored make up 83.1% of all the eligible Chestnut Hill athletes at the institution. Sprint football athletes are not included as they are members of the Collegiate Sprint Football League (CSFL) and not the CACC. In addition, men's tennis athletes were not included as they compete in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference and women's flag football will compete in the Atlantic East Conference for their inaugural season before becoming part of the CACC in 2027.
Baseball placed 35 athletes on the CACC Academic Honor roll while men's lacrosse had 31 athletes earn conference academic honor roll status. The women's soccer team had 26 of their athletes named to the academic honor roll while the softball and women's lacrosse teams placed 21 and 19 of their athletes respectively earn academic honor roll status. athletes.
Three programs placed at least 90% of their athletes on the academic honor roll with the women's tennis team placing all five of their players on the academic honor roll for 100%. Women's Soccer had 26 of their 27 players earn academic honor roll status (96.2%) while the women's lacrosse team placed 90.4% of their athletes (19 of 21) on the academic honor roll. An additional seven Griffin athletic teams had between 80 and 89.9% of their athletes named to the CACC Academic Honor Roll. The women's lacrosse team and softball team, each with six FAR Award of Distinction honorees were tied for the most FAR honorees in their league for their respective sports.
The CACC is proud of its academic success as the conference boasts the smallest geographic footprint of any league in NCAA Division II. Each member schools is located within four hours of each other, which means no overnight trips are necessary for in-season conference games. Less time traveling means more time for student-athletes in the classroom and competing in the sports they love. The Spring 2024 Academic Honor Roll numbers support the conference's claim of less travel and more class time produces outstanding academic numbers.
A record total of 2,429 student athletes from the CACC's 12 institutions which include Lincoln University as an associate member for baseball and women's soccer were named to the CACC Academic Honor Roll.
