The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) has announced their AVCA Team Academic Award winners for the 2025-26 season. The Chestnut Hill College Women's Volleyball team was among the over 1,400 programs (NCAA DI, DII, DIII, the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Junior Colleges (JUCO), the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA), College Men, Collegiate Beach, High School Boys, and High School Girls levels) that were selected for this honor.
The Griffins' volleyball program is under the direction of third-year head coach Brandon Johnson .
In order to earn the AVCA Team Academic Award, the program must have maintained a year-long grade-point average of at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale. The Griffins produced a 3.32 team grade point average for 2025-26.
The volleyball team was one of 156 Division II programs to earn the Team Academic Award and also one of just four institutions from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference to be selected . In addition, Chestnut Hill was one of only 13 Division II East Region schools to receive the AVCA Team Academic award
This year's honors for the volleyball team marks the seventh time in program history and the first since the 2018-19 academic year that the has been recognized for their academic success by the AVCA. The team had earned the award for six straight years from 2014 to 2019.
The Griffins' volleyball team is now the seventh Chestnut Hill team to earn an all-Academic Team Award from their respective sports association for the 2025-26 academic year, joining the women's track and field team (USTFCCCA); men's and women's tennis teams (ITA); the men's lacrosse Team (USILA); the men's basketball team (NABC) and the women's bowling team (NTCA).
