Milestone Earns Timony Another Week of CACC Report

New Haven, Conn. – (4/8/2013) – Senior midfielder Brianne Timony (Allentown, N.J.) scored three goals, including the 100th of her collegiate career, in a 13-8 loss to local Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) rival, Holy Family University, on Wednesday, April 3, and recorded four goals on in a 14-9 CACC loss to Dominican College on Saturday, April 6, to earn her third mention on the CACC Women’s Lacrosse Report Honor Roll.

Wednesday's, April 3, CACC women's lacrosse contest at Victory Field #1 turned into a tale of two halves as a competitive first half gave way to Holy Family University's 13-8 victory over Chestnut Hill College (2-8, 2-4). The Griffins matched the Tigers goal-for-goal early and held a 7-5 lead with three minutes remaining in the first half, but a slower paced second half favored the visitors for a 5-1 reversal. Timony led the Griffins with three goals, three ground balls, a draw, and a caused turnover while becoming the sixth member of the program’s 100-goal club. She also recorded three ground balls, a draw, and a caused turnover against the Tigers.

Ending their home schedule early this spring, the Griffins welcomed Dominican College to Victory Field #1 on Saturday, April 6, for an afternoon's CACC contest. The Lady Chargers emerged victorious with a 14-9 win. Timony recorded four goals and an assist to lead the home effort with five points.

Timony currently leads the Griffins in goals (33), assists (4), points (37), and shots (94), while also providing 14 ground balls, 25 draws and five caused turnovers. She ranks second in the CACC for goals scored and fourth in points.

The women's lacrosse team takes their CACC schedule on the road as they play next on Tuesday, April 9, in a 3:00 p.m. contest at Wilmington University.
