The Clippers spoiled the Griffins perfect league record as the victors in a game-one pitchers' duel, 2-1, while Chestnut Hill College fed off another strong start from junior pitcher

Patrick Campion (Norristown, Pa.) went 4-for-8 with a run and three runs-batted-in (RBI), as the junior first baseman recorded two lead-off singles in the opener before hitting his first collegiate home run in the sixth inning of game two.
The scoring came early in the opener as a second-inning, two-out single earned Concordia College (NY) (7-5, 1-1) the upper hand in a well-defended, 14-hit, pitchers' duel. Chestnut Hill College (8-3, 5-1) scored with two outs in the top of the first, using a double from senior right fielder

The Griffins sized control in the second game, scoring all six of their runs before the Clippers got on the scoreboard. Crim extended his scoreless innings streak to 16 with seven empty innings today against the Clippers. He surrendered his only hit to the second batter he faced and only walked two others while striking out two in his second win (2-1) of the season. The Griffin offense pitched in in the third, fourth, sixth, and eighth innings with the Clippers touching up senior pitcher
Vincent Manzella (Matawan, N.J.) for the eighth-inning run to cut the final deficit to three, 6-3. Four Griffins recorded two hits; junior left fielder
Brendan Looby (Sewell, N.J.) was one of them and he singled in a run in the top of the third inning, 1-0. Two others were senior third baseman
Taylor Steen (New Egypt, N.J.) and Campion, who both singled in runs in the fourth inning, 3-0. Steen also singled with two out in the sixth inning. He scored soon after, when Campion connected for his long ball, 5-0. The last Griffin run crossed the plate in the eighth with freshman right fielder
Patrick Kelley (Pipersville, Pa.) recording a two-out double and scoring a batter later on a single from Looby. Kelley also had two hits in the game, additionally reaching on a sixth-inning single.
The baseball team breaks from their CACC schedule tomorrow, Tuesday, March 24, for the first of two scheduled non-conference dates at Millersville University. First pitch is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
