Julia Galantich (Clinton Corners, N.Y.) finished with four goals apiece; the former added five ground balls and six draws to her six-point (4, goals, 2 assists) performance.
Chestnut Hill College (7-5, 4-2) grabbed the earl edge in the clash of conference titans as Reinert (1-0, 25:16) and Leckonby's (3-1, 22:12) milestone goals bookended the Griffins opening 3-1 run. Unfortunately, Georgian Court University (9-6, 7-0) spoiled the celebration with a 4-0 run that earned them a 5-3 advantage with 16:58 remaining in the first half and kept them ahead of the Griffins to a 9-7 halftime spread. Rejuvenated and inspired by the halftime Hall of Fame recognition, the Scarlet and Gold captured a 10-9 lead thanks to a three straight goals from Leckonby (29:34, 27:37, 23:01). But, again the Lions responded, using a three-goal run of their own to assume a 12-10 lead with 18:49 remaining. Spencer Fitzgerald (Huntingtown, Md.) (13-12, 6:11) and Galantich deadlocked the affair, 13-13 (4:51), in the final five minutes. Unluckily, Georgian Court University netted the game-winning-goal, 14-13, a little more than a minute later (3:21), spoiling the Scarlet and Gold's commemorative event.
Senior midfielder Taylor Bauerband (Toms River, N.J.) led the Lions with six goals and three ground balls. She got plenty of support from sophomore midfielder Arianna Quinlan (Delran, N.J.), junior attack Samantha Fernandez (Toms River, N.J.), and senior midfielder Xena Valenzuela (Middletown, N.J.). Quinlan finished with three goals and four ground balls. Fernandez offered two goals, an assist, four ground balls, and two caused turnovers. And Valenzuela totaled two goals, two assists, four ground balls, five draws, and two caused turnovers. In goal, junior Amber Neumann (Brick, N.J.) (9-6) recorded three ground balls and three caused turnovers in addition to her six saves.
