Heaton Hits Her Way Onto CACC Weekly Honor Roll
                                                                                                                   
New Haven, Conn. – (4/7/2014) – Sophomore second baseman Julie Heaton (Berlin, N.J.) hit .474 (9-for-19) in a 4-2 week of Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play for the Chestnut Hill College softball team. While raising her batting average to a team-high .328 (19-for-58), Heaton earned a spot on the CACC Weekly Honor Roll by recording three hits and two runs-batted-in (RBI) in a split with Goldey-Beacom, three more hits in a game-two slugfest at Felician College, and four RBI on three hits in the Griffins sweep of Bloomfield College.
 
Heaton recorded two hits and in the first game against Goldey-Beacom College before knocking in two second-inning runs during Chestnut Hill College’s (5-15, 5-7) 5-4 game-two victory on Tuesday, April 1. Against the Golden Falcons, on Saturday, April 5, she singled runs home in both the third and sixth innings, before bringing home a third run with her seventh-inning walk during the Griffins 15-11 game-two win over Felician College. Her hot hitting continued on Sunday, April 6, with three more hits resulting in four Griffin runs against Bloomfield College. She first cleared the bases to give the Griffins a 4-1 lead in the second inning of the opener before singling home a run in the first inning of game two.
 
The softball team plays next on Wednesday, April 9, when they visit the University of the Sciences for a 2:30 p.m. doubleheader.
