Game-Winner Warrants Marra CACC Weekly Honor Roll Appearance

New Haven, Conn. – (10/22/2018) – After a pair of early goals sophomore forward Miguel Marra (Ossining, N.Y.) scored the eventual game-winner in a 3-1 triumph over Felician University that clinched a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) postseason berth for Chestnut Hill College. The tally also earned Marra an appearance on the CACC Weekly Honor Roll.

Chestnut Hill College (7-9, 6-6) welcomed Felician University (3-10-1, 3-7) to Victory Field #1 for Saturday’s Senior Day contest. Chestnut Hill College took their initial lead at 6:24, when senior forward Jason Burns (Reading, Pa.) collected the rebound from a Pedro Dutra (Passos, Brazil) shot and reconnected it with the junior midfielder, who tapped it past the Felician University goalkeeper, 1-0. The Golden Falcons replied about six minutes later (12:44) and the contest remained in stalemate until junior defenseman Paris Bruhn (Horst Holstein, Germany) played a long ball over the Felician University defense to Marra’s foot for a flick into the Golden Falcon goal at 48:29, 2-1. After halftime, Chestnut Hill College preserved their 2-1 lead with a solid team effort that denied a dozen (12) shots, before a Burns break down the left sideline opened the door for a one-touch goal from fellow senior, midfielder Tyler Johnson (Howell, N.J.), 3-1 (86:36). The insurance goal was more than enough the hold off the Golden Falcons for the final 3:24.

Earlier in the week (October 16), junior defenseman Andrew Johnstone (Liverpool, England) used his head to successfully redirect a corner kick from senior midfielder Tales Domingues (Sao Paulo, Brazil) and give Chestnut Hill College an early 1-0 (26:45) lead at Jefferson. Unfortunately, the Rams took advantage of a Griffins miscue to tie the affair (1-1, 40:47) before halftime and netted the game-winner, 2-1 (82:06), with just under eight minutes remaining.
