Double-Doubles Deliver Wildgoose’s Third CACC Honor Roll Recognition

New Haven, Conn. – (1/14/2019) – For the third time this season, senior forward Jaeda Wildgoose (Franklin Township, N.J.) graced the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women’s Basketball Weekly Honor Roll. The Griffin captain posted a pair of double-doubles in a 1-1 week of CACC play that included a highly-competitive, 91-86, loss to #12 Jefferson on Tuesday, January 8, and the Scarlet and Gold’s first league win, 77-59, over Bloomfield College on Saturday, January 12. Wildgoose averaged 21.0 points per game (PPG) and 13.0 rebounds per game (RPG), while totaling three assists, three blocks, and a steal in the two contests.

On Tuesday, January 8, Chestnut Hill College (3-11, 1-5) hosted their first home contest of the New Year, going head-to-head against #12 Jefferson (15-0, 6-0) in a highly-competitive league contest. Wildgoose posted a career-high 30 points and her fourth double-double (13 rebounds) of the season. She scored 14 of her points in the first half, keeping the Griffins afloat in a 39-37 spread. Unfortunately, the Lady Rams outscored the Griffins 25-17 in the third  quarter, giving them just enough breathing room to heading to a fourth quarter that saw the Scarlet and Gold lead 75-74 (4:16), before giving way to Jefferson's clutch free throw performance (11-of-14, .786 over last 4:16). Wildgoose's 30 points ranks second in program history, falling just a point shy of Olivia Gorczynski '15, who score 31 points in an 81-49 CACC win over Concordia College (NY) on January 24, 2015. Wildgoose finished 12-of-18 (.667) from the floor and 6-of-6 (1.000) from the free throw line, while recording 13 rebounds, an assist, a block, and a steal.

After being honored as the program’s all-time leading scorer, Wildgoose led Chestnut Hill College to their first CACC win of the season with 12 points, 13 rebounds, two assists, and two blocks against Bloomfield College (3-12, 2-4). In all, five Griffins finished in double figures, propelling them to the 77-59 league victory over the Bears. Chestnut Hill College made a statement in the first half of play, posting a 40-16 halftime advantage with a 55.6% (15-of-27) field goal percentage that included a 5-of-9 (.556) effort from long range and was accompanied by a 5-of-6 (.833) performance from the free throw line. The Scarlet and Gold held at least a 20-point lead until the final minutes of the fray and finished the contest shooting 52.8% (28-of-53) from the floor, 53.3% (8-of-15) from three point range, and 68.4% (13-of-19) from the free throw line.
